This isn’t a separate event, this is who we are. We are a studio rooted in street dance, music, and art, and this battle is how we introduce our space, our mission, and our community to the public. To set it off, we’re hosting an Open Style 1v1 Battle, creating a space for dancers to exchange, express, and represent their style in its rawest form. Featuring our judges and studio instructors who will be leading ongoing classes in the studio. @jrboogaloo Boogaloo teaching popping lexlyia Teaching Breaking itspattymiranda Teaching Waacking These aren’t just guests, these are culture bearers helping us build a foundation rooted in authentic street styles (not ballet, not commercial, real street forms). DJ @mp3.sd setting the tone MC @djDes_tin33 guiding the energy Live art curated by @sdwriterz bringing the visual element of Hip Hop Culture to the space. 📍Event locateion, starts at the studio, goes down the block to @tierras_indigenas where the battle will be held. This is an open call to the community, dancers, families, artists, and supporters. We will have art, vendors, music and dance. Because we all share the responsibility to pass on, preserve, and pay forward the culture to the next generation. After our ribbon cutting ceremony, the studio will be open to explore, then step outside and witness the culture come alive through battle, music, and art. The GO Battle = “Grand Opening” Battle • We will be collecting donations for battle winners to support and uplift the dancers.
